Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
